Problem: How do we develop a program that serves low socio-economic status women and provide them the soft skills they need to enter the work force?

Eden Ministries is a social enterprise that works with women who are recovering from human trafficking. As part of their wholistic program, Eden desired to offer a life skills course that women could attend which would focus on a variety of soft skills needed to develop and grow personal self-confidence. Topics such as goal setting, healthy communication techniques, establishing boundaries, conflict resolution, and financial literacy were a few of the topics that this course desired to cover.

For this project, Bouwer Consulting worked closely with the staff to develop a personalized curriculum that could be used with their clients and their specific needs. Additionally, Bouwer Consulting trained Eden staff on the implementation of this course to ensure understanding of content and ease of implementation. As a result of working together, the women who took this course shared they felt they were equipped with stronger soft skills which built their confidence as they entered the workforce.

Project Scope: Program Design & Development

“Sarah helped us build our life-skill training class for our beneficiaries, including giving guidance on how to improve our curriculum. Additionally, she provided training to our staff on how to prepare classes and be more confident in implementing the curriculum for the women in our program. Sarah’s professional input, especially her background of curriculum writing, made our training program better and more suitable for our beneficiaries who are mostly low educated. The life-skill training class that she worked with us to create was one of our most popular courses. I am so glad and grateful that we could get Sarah’s help on making it an even better training program.”
